Nestled in the heart of the desert and typically known as a drive-by stop, Quartzsite becomes a must-visit destination in late January and early February, attracting thousands for one of the most exciting gem shows in North America.

One of the biggest highlights of the Quartzsite gem show is the sheer scale- it takes several days to explore all the booths, tents, and vendor tables spread across the desert landscape. You'll find everything from hand-mined crystals to one-of-a-kind fossil specimens, tools for cutting and shaping, handmade jewellery, lapidary art, and supplies you didn’t even know you needed.

Vendors come from every corner of the globe to showcase their collections, so whether you're hunting for sparkling quartz points from Brazil, rough minerals from Africa, or intricately carved figurines from Asia, there’s something for everyone. One of our most memorable purchases was from a skilled artisan who flintknaps his own obsidian and jasper blades, crafting them into traditional-style knives using antler horn handles. These incredible pieces reflect a deep respect for ancient craftsmanship and always catch the eyes of our customers in-store- we still have two left available at Coastal Crystals!
